It's Not Christmas Until Someone Is Offended

When Fred first brought up the concept for this card, I thought, "Huh. Funny. OK, let's do it." When we actually executed it, I got a little scared about offending some people. But now that they've been sent out and the compliments from friends keep pouring in, I'm very proud.

Check it out over at Fred's blog. While you're there, read around. The guy is pretty hilarious.

That card is fantastic. But then again, I'm Jewish and thus have no problem laughing at Jesus jokes. My dad's favorite goes, "Christians are always complaining about how the Jews killed Jesus. What's the big deal? He was only dead three days." Ba DUM bump.

Thanks, Wendy. All of our friends and family have loved it so far. Even the practicing Christians. My super Catholic aunt even called me to tell me how much she loved it. It's really mocking parenting more than Jesus.

This is awesome. I wish I was on your Christmas list. I may have to steal this for when we finally start sending out cards next year, i.e. we will have a baby then, too.

I just need to high five you. I've needed to do so for many of your posts, but this one spurred me to action.

Bwahahaha. I love it. Next year, when we're back in the states, I want back on your Christmas card list. We kept the 2007 one up for months and laughed every single time we looked at it.. I still have it in a drawer as an example for Husband how Christmas cards do not have to be lame.

What a fantastic card!! Great idea! Our first Christmas together, I was pregnant and we sent out cards with the ultrasound pic with a red felt santa hat on the head...but only to a select few recipients. LOVE this card!

Kelly-Congrats on your soon-to-be new arrival. Feel free to steal away.

KBitsch-Hee-hee. Slap! (That's me high-fivin' you back.)

ECobb-I have to give my husband full credit for the cards. If it were just me, you'd get a picture of Walt. But yeah, move back so I can send you a card!

Amy Kate-HA! Love your card too!

Kickpleat-Thanks!

That doesn't mock parenting- every parent thinks their child deserves to be deified. I think it's really cute, but quite frankly, not as cute as last years.

And that video of Walt and yogurt? Killer cute. I recall several episodes of Griffin at that age and certain off-the-chart cute things he did, and yes- they use it against you. Really, it never stops.
